In terms of culture, the Malay community has a variety of distinctive cultures that are
manifested in the form of language, traditional houses, traditional clothing, and other cultural
aspects. You can see some of these types of culture in more detail below.
Malay Traditional Clothing
As a society with a predominance of Islam, the Malay traditional clothing also conforms
to Islamic law. The name of this Malay traditional clothing is called Baju Kurung with its loose
characteristics when worn. The use of this loose form of clothing is due to avoid the appearance
of the body shape of the wearer, considering that this is not recommended in Islam. Generally, the
use of clothes brackets is also accompanied by the use of typical Malay songket cloth. If in the
past, the brackets were more often used for traditional ceremonies, now there are quite a lot of
people who use it for everyday clothes.
