                  Cl . But, do not change the prescription. Observe CaCO3 precipitate in the solution. DO NOT filter
                  the solution, so prepare 500 mL. Send the preparation for sterilisation.

                  DO NOT FILTER THE SOLUTION                                          500 mL
                  Prepare for 550 mL                                       INTRAVENOUS INFUSION
                  1.  Weigh all salts.                             Sodium ion    112 mmol/L (112 mEq/L)
                  2.  Dissolve the salts separately                Calcium ion   34 mmol/L (68 mEq/L)
                                                                   Acetate ion           88 mmol/L (88 mEq/L)
                  3.  Mix the solutions                            Chloride ion   68 mmol/L (68 mEq/L)
                  4.  Add water for injection to 550 mL.           Bicarbonate ion  24 mmol/L (24 mEq/L)
                  5.  Transfer 500 mL the solution into infusion                     as
                      bottle.                                      Sodium acetate                   1.2 %w/v
                  6.  Close the bottle                             Sodium bicarbonate   0.2 %w/v
                  7.  Sterilise the solution by autoclaving  at    Calcium chloride                0.5 %w/v
                      Temperature 121–123 °C; Pressure 1.05
