Abstrak: Divorce actually results in the separation of husband and wife bonds.
This study aims to examine the influence of economic, community and social
factors on the increase in divorce rates during the Covid-19 period in the city of
Padang, as well as to analyze the effect of divorce on parties and families. The
method used in this research is normative juridical research by conducting
observations, field notes, and interviews with related parties at the research
location. The results of this study explain some of the causes of divorce in the
Padang City Religious Court, showing that of the three highest causes,
continuous disputes and quarrels; leave one of the parties; there is no harmony,
community, social and economic factors. While the impacts that will arise from
divorce include traumatic feelings, parenting problems, emotional disturbances
and changes in status and roles.
