Chapter 9 Optional “Add-On” Items
Bug Spray Applicator
4) Next, take the Bug Spray Applicator manifold and lag it to the floor at the dimensions shown in the pictures below. The barbed
hose fitting should point toward the entrance of the bay.

5) VPS System: If you have a VPS system, the Bug Spray Applicator Manifold will be positioned off of the driver side exit VPS
Photo-Eye. The manifold should be placed as shown in the image below. Once this manifold is in place and lagged down it is
now necessary to mount the crossover tube to the floor (also shown below).
There are two options for mounting of this system. One way is to secure the manifold directly to the floor whereas the feed will
be in the path of a tire. If this is your method, it is important to make sure that none of the soft rubber hose will be ran over by
vehicle tires. This will cause the hose to wear through prematurely. You should use hard piping as a “crossover” tube as shown
below.
The other way is to mount the manifold and crossover feed in a trench cut into the floor. This will keep the bay floor clean and
obstruction free. It is still important to mount the hard pipe crossover tube inline with the tire so if the trench is not cleaned up
and dirt gets packed inside, the hose doesn’t wear prematurely. In both cases the crossover tube should be mounted
approximately 12’’ in before of the bug spray applicator manifold (toward the entrance). This will allow the hose to be looped
and connected between the two manifolds.

CAUTION: If mounting to the
surface of the floor, be sure to use
hard piping in the tire path to prevent
premature wear of a rubber hose. Centerline
