INSTALLATION AND STARTUP
Chapter 9 Optional “Add-On” Items
Booster Pump
Before You Get Started
a. Turn off the main power to the machine.
b. Turn off the main water supply to the machine.
c. Before initial startup, the pump must be filled with 1.2 to 1.5 gallons of water to enable it to self-prime. The
pump can be primed by removing the 1/2” plug that is on the top of the pump and opening the inlet water
valve until the pump is full.
d. When mounting the pump to the wall, be sure to keep the gauges at a level that will be easily visible.
e. Make sure that there will be enough room between the spot where the pump will mount and the main 1”
copper water line. This will keep enough slack in the 1” black water hose and not cause any unusual
bends.
f. There is 15’ of 1” black water hose supplied. Try not to place the pump any more than 6’ from where your
1” main copper line will be cut. If you need to go further than 6’, it will be necessary to purchase an
additional hose length.
Installation
1) Locate your main copper water line that feeds the fresh water to the 3/4” blue water hose
that runs through the boom and to the FressStyler® utility plate. This copper line will
need to have a section cut out in order to fit the Booster Pump Kit.
Note: If the Wheel Cleaner option was selected, the pump can also be installed before the tee that
feeds the FressStyler® machine and the optional Wheel Cleaner. Refer to diagram.
2) Measure the overall length of the Booster Pump Kit manifold assembly, which goes from
the top male copper fitting to the bottom male copper fitting. Minus 1-3/4” from the overall
length. This final dimension is how much of the main 1” copper pipe that you will need to
cut out. Refer to the pictures for an existing site.
Note: When you make your cut to the copper pipe, try to keep the cuts as straight as possible.
This will allow the pipe to seat in to the male copper fittings properly.
3) Once the pipe is cut, install the Booster Pump Kit manifold assembly in to place. Make
sure that the barbed hose fittings will face the pump before you begin to solder the two
ends. You can now solder both ends of the pipe in to the Booster Pump Kit manifold.
4) Locate the Booster Pump wall mount bracket and place it in the area that you have
decided on. Once it is level, mark the two holes with a black marker. Drill both holes with
a 3/8” hammer drill bit.
5) Mount the Booster Pump bracket to the wall using two field supplied anchor bolts. Be
sure to tighten both down completely.
6) Locate the pump assembly and mount it to the bracket using the supplied 3/8” fasteners,
washers, and nuts. Be sure to tighten all four completely.
7) Locate the supplied 1” diameter, 15 foot black water hose and make your two line
connections as shown. Be sure to put the clamps on to the hose before pushing the hose
on to the barb hose fittings. Note that the top line is longer than the bottom line and also
to leave enough slack for both lines were they will not be too tight.
