Chapter 4 Frame and Carriage Assembly

Mounting the Exit Arm Accessories

1) Locate the two Exit Hub and Shaft Assemblies and slide a 1BERNG848 onto each
of the shafts with the flat side facing upward. Slide another 1BERNG848 onto the
shaft with the flat side facing downward as shown below.
Note: NEVER FORCE THE BEARING ON, SAND OR DEBUR IF NECESSARY.

2) Place the 1COLLR333 into the collar slot on the shaft and tighten it down onto
shaft so there is an even gap on both sides of the collar. Slide the top bearing up
until the collar is sitting on top of the bearing and tighten the set screws as shown
below.

Note: Be sure to use anti seize on all bearings and on the top part of the shaft
where the gearbox fits onto.

Note: Threads may become stripped on the locking-collar if over-tightened. Assembly

3) Locate one of the Exit Hub and Shaft Assemblies, lift it up and set it onto the bearing extrusion as
shown below. Secure the bearing with two provided 9/16 x 1-1/12” bolts and two Torque Plate
Studs.

Note: Be sure the Torque Plate Studs are in the location and orientation shown below (always facing
inward from the center of the bay). Be sure to face the grease fittings outward for ease in
maintenance.
