Understanding Working Envelopes
Manifold Clearance
This is the required distance from the inside of the spray manifold to the wall or any other
obstructions when the manifolds are butterflied in front or rear of the vehicle.
Each manifold is 6-1/4” in diameter. Deflection during high pressure and knuckle alignment
tolerance adds 4-1/4” for a total of 10-1/2” when the machine is jogged into the hard stops.
6-1/2”
Manifold Diameter
10-1/2”
Required Manifold Deflection Space
The Saber stops 4” from the hard stops at the HOME position, at the entrance travel limit. This
increases the manifold clearance value to 14-1/2”, which is the result of when the entrance side
of the exit head beam is installed 41” from the wall or other obstacles. See image below.
41”
Hard Stop
4”
14-1/2”
The statement above is true because the machine will stop at the travel limit proximity sensors
during normal operation. Manifold clearance at both the entrance and exit can be reduced by the
stated 4”.
