INSTALLATION & STARTUP

            Chapter 3 Getting Started

            Size Limit Options to Consider

               Height Considerations
If height becomes a restriction in fitting a Saber® into a bay then consider the following
               compromises.
Option #1: Lower the maximum vehicle height by up to 4”

The maximum vehicle height is 84’’ for a standard installation. Reducing the maximum vehicle
height down to 80’’ to fit into a 126’’ high bay can be done. This will leave approximately 5-1/4’’
clearance from the bottom of the manifold to the floor. If this is the option that you plan to use,
then the frame and Boom Mount will have to be lowered down to the desired height. This will
require a field supplied “height bar” to inform the customers at the entrance of the wash bay to
be lowered down to 80’’ to accommodate the new maximum vehicle height. You should NEVER
lower the whole machine more than 4” for proper sonar operation. Set the sonar parameters in
the HMI E-1063 per the Saber® Programming Manual. Consider manifold height once again if a
DuraShiner® CF will be placed at the exit under the arms.
                Option #2: No On-Board Dryer
If the bay height is still a restriction when considering option number 1, you may not be able to
use the On-Board Dryer option. If you do not have an On-Board Dryer, the overall machine
height is lower by 5-1/2’’. If this is an option that you plan to use, the boom height will also need
to be adjusted down 5-1/2 inches.
                Summary
If option 1 and 2 are both utilized, the minimum building height the Saber® can fit into is 120-
1/2’’. In addition, if the building length is not a restriction then a Belanger AirBlade Dryer system
can be installed. The overall height of the AirBlade Dryer system is lower than the Saber® On-
Board Dryer height and needs to be placed outside of the travel and butterfly motion of the
Saber® manifolds. These systems will fit into a bay that is 120-1/2’’ inches tall, which is the new
minimum height of the machine when both option 1 and 2 are utilized for installation.
