Chapter 6 Frame and Carriage Assembly

            Frame Assembly (All Styles)

               Esablishing an Origin
The Saber® machine works best when the frame is centered to the doors. To create a centerline, mark the center
of the doors on both the entrance and exit of the wash bay and snap a chalk-line down the length of the bay. This
line will be the reference line when installing the frame. Spray this line with a clear acrylic paint which will allow the
line to remain intact throughout the installation procedures.

The placement of the Saber® "down" the tunnel requires several considerations.
                                          Considerations
                                                CAUTION

Allow space for the Undercarriage Wash and/or Rocker Blasters/Spin Cleans, Photo
Eyes, support legs (if applicable), Manifold travel (32 feet), in-bay signage, drip space,
Dryer and doors and/or door openers (if applicable). See required clearances on the
11”x 17” pages at the back of this document.

Once the location of the Saber® framework is determined, measure a distance from the exit wall back to the
determined dimension and snap a line perpendicular to the centerline. The intersection of the two lines is
considered the basepoint of the tunnel and all equipment in the tunnel should be place off of this line to ensure
proper relationship between all components of the wash. This line will also locate the entrance edge of the exit
head beam as shown in the attached 11” x 17’ documents.

                                                                       73-1/2”
                                                                      minimum

                                                       Centerline

                                   *41”
                                  minimum

*The minimum distance from the entrance edge of the exit head beam to the inside edge
of the exit wall is 41 inches. If exit equipment such as a stand alone dryer and a
freestanding RO arch are present, those equipment working envelopes must be
considered in the length placement of the Saber® framework.

Once the Saber® is in place, a plumb bob is used to verify correct relationship from centerline of the
carriage to the centerline of the doors. Once this "assurance step" is completed, an additional chalk line
is snapped across the bay. This chalk line is established in the following manner. Locate the exit end
                  cross beam

Note: This procedure pertains to all frame styles
Drop a plumb bob from the inside face of this beam at the extreme driver's side. Mark this location on
the floor. Repeat this process off of the same face at the extreme passenger's side and once again mark
the floor. Snap a chalk line between the two marks. Where this line intersects the door centerline
determines the equipment placement basepoint. Using this basepoint insures correct relationship
between the all peripheral equipment and the Saber® Carriage Assembly.
