Maintenance
Drive Belt Replacement and Tightening
9) Measure the belt span (shown below).

10) Position the bottom of the belt gauges, large o-ring on the Span Scale at the measured belt span
(14”).
11) Set the small o-ring on the Deflection Force Scale to zero.
12) Place the tension tester squarely on the back belt at the center of the belt span. Apply a force on the
plunger and perpendicular to the belt span until the bottom of the large o-ring is even with the top of
the next belt (14” on scale).
13) Remove the tension tester and read the force applied from the bottom of the small o-ring on the
deflection force scale.
14) At this point the back belt tension should read 11# new or 7# used.
15) Tighten bolt (B2) and rotate large pump pulley CCW 2 turns.
16) Tighten adjustment screw (D) until front belt is at 13# new or 9 # used.
17) Tighten fastener (B1, A1 and B2).
18) Check tension of all 3 belts. They should be 13+ or – 2lbs new or 9 + or – 1lb used.
