February 26. I got my 3rd note from Joe. We write one a day
to each other. Had fun in Lab and also in Latin. Going to have
             Chem. test tomorrow.

March 1. Went to school. After school Jack H. asked Joe and
I to go to his party that nite. We went. Had a swell time. I let Joe
X me [kiss me] for the first time.

March 2. Went to dentist. Eustacia came up. We went uptown
in afternoon. Jean and Gloria came down in the nite for awhile.

March 3. I went down to Gloria’s in afternoon. After supper
Joe called me up. He came down. We went to show with Jim and
             Norine to see Gilded Lily.

March 4. I wrote Joe a note. Had lots of fun in religion [class].
Nothing exciting happened. We worked for the Prom afterwards.

March 5. I got a note from Joe saying that they could go to the
Boarders’ party at Gloria Hanley’s. [The Boarders was the name
used for the athletes like George Fritscher who lived at the boarding
house run by Routt College, which was a two-year college with a
high school.] I went to the play called As Thousands Smile. Joe was
a girl in the play. I met him after the play. We went to the party
and danced. Had a keen time. I let Joe X [kiss] me [in exchange]
             for his picture.

March 6. Went to Church. Joe gave me his graduation picture.
This morning in the hall. It’s swell. We talked again at noon. The
principal caught us. I wrote a note to Joe. Gave it to him at noon.

March 16. Joe came down. Jim and Norine were here getting
ready to go to a dance. Joe brought me a different picture. Had a
             swell time.

March 17. Joe came down. We went out to Smith’s. Had a keen
time. Took a walk. Went down to Merrigan’s. Then came home.
