nite Frank W, Carl, Ed, came down. We went up to Gloria’s house
to dance.
March 18. Went to Church. Catherine and I went up to Gloria’s
in afternoon and we went riding. Went to Church at nite. Saw Carl.

March 19. Went to school as usual. After school we had Glee
Club, but I didn’t go to school in afternoon. Went uptown to get
my formal. Catherine and I went down to Gloria’s in nite.

March 20. Went to school again. After school made my ap-
pointment for my permanent. After supper I washed my hair.
Loretta wanted me to come over.

March 22. Stayed home from school. Got a permanent in the
morning at Ambassador for the Prom. Went to school in afternoon.
All the kids liked it.

April 3. Prom! I went with Carl Rief. Double-dated Gloria
and Ed Cox, Bud Simon and Margaret Cain. Had a grand time.
Went riding afterwards.

1935

Age 15, will turn 16 on 12 July 1935, begins dating

February 4. I was “Mrs. Pendleton,” the old cleaning lady, in
play called Daddy Long-Legs. Had my first date with Joe Pedrucci
after the play. Had a good time. He sure is cute! We went riding
with B. Belz, R. Smith, J. Corbett, L. Mallen. Joe wanted to X me
[kiss me]. Tried, but I wouldn’t let him. It made him mad.
