Thus, as teachers may not have the training to identify the dyslexics in their
class, it is the parents who should have some knowledge about dyslexia. Armed with the
knowledge, they can immediately take their children for a psychoeducational evaluation when
they notice some dyslexia warning signs in them.
When a child is diagnosed as a dyslexic by a licensed expert, it is normal for
the parents to feel sad about it. However, take heart, dear parents. Stay strong. We have
been promised that “verily, with hardship, there is relief” (Quran 94:6). Our dyslexic children
need us to be resolute and tenacious to help them thrive along with their non-dyslexic siblings
and peers.
