SHARED COORDINATES

          Shared coordinates

Revit's coordinate system is not directly accessible by the insertion of objects and links. On the
other hand, there is the opportunity to share between the linked files and Revit coordinates
projects. This is called the Shared Coordinates, which can either be downloaded from a link file
or publish to a link file. This Division consists in the fact that the files are assigned a common 0,
0, 0 point in the Northerly/easterly direction, as well as evt. rotation factor between files.
When a file is linked to a host project, its position is automatically named and placed in the
host's project, but the coordinate is not automatically shared. The overall project is planned so
that a project file determines the coordinate system from which the other project files then
retrieve the coordinate, or the coordinate is published from the determining project file to the
          linked project files.
Shared Coordinates can also be used to determine the position of a linked file that has been
inserted several times in a host project. The linked files can be both Revit projects as DWG and
          DXF files.
