          Component Families

Component families are loaded into your project according to your needs, these are also called
also called Loadable Family. They are loaded with:
Insert ► Load from Library ► Load Family

          They are inserted with the:
          Architecture ► Build► <desired category>
Architecture ► Build ► Component ► Place Component

These are "open" Families, which means that they are created outside of the project, and are
stored in separate files (*. rfa) that is placed in a component library.

Component Family is created through a Family Template, which is specific within the defined
category (* .RTF). Here you can attach parameters that are needed to get the object to behave
as desired. Family Templates can be accessed via:
File Tab ► New ► Family
Component family's can, among other things. be Windows, doors, pillars, fixtures, fittings,
toilets, radiators, thermostats, light fittings, sockets and switches. In addition, you can create 2D
graphical Family, for example, details, profiles and symbols.

          In-Place Families
An In-Place Family is created in the project specifically where it is desired. This Family are not
saved out into separate files. There are options to add parameters in this, if desired. In-Place
          Family are created via:
          Architecture ► Build ► Component ► Model In-Place
In-Place Family is just in your project, and can't simply be transferred to other projects.
However, the Copy/Paste function can be used to use these Families in other projects. In-Place
can be all object types, both System Families and Component Family.
