Project Setup
A project is a database containing all information regarding. construction model. It contains the
complete model and its documentation.
I.e. one project = one file
Project Templates
A project template called Template, helps to standardize projects by determining in which units
should be worked and which Projekt Leveles are part of the new project. In a Project Templet,
predefinitions can be made for naming Views in all categories, company custom objects and
much more.
Project Templates has filename extension. "rte", this Template is used. to form a project after,
this project will have filename extension "rvt.".
Please be aware that it is not a template. "rte", that shall be opened, if that the template schould
be corrected. Revit takes a copy of it and then the extension will be. "rvt" on the copy by the
Save as. It also means that a subsequent adjustment of the project template will only have an
impact on subsequent projects.
Creating a project
File Tab ► New ► Project
In the dialog box, select Browse, and
then choose the desired Template file.
Please note that at the bottom of the dialog
box is selected "Project" under the "Create
new", since that is not desired to form a new
Template, but to use the template for a new
project.
It is possible to create ypur own Templates, either based onan existing project or from scratch.
This Template can be set as the default and then be selected automatically when a new project
is started up.
