Thy gifts of goodness and presents of patience,
Thy calm counsel and kindly guidance,
And sow love and unityto grow for ever;
In this land dense with darkness and dreary emotions,may
Thy glorious halo of wisdom and devotion
Lend light of learning bright with divine notion,
And kindle zeal and zest to righteous revolution;
Oh Father of Nation,Divine among human,
Inspire to success our efforts with “amen”

Lo! Nehru is no more:
The dear Nation he loved
Orphaned as never before
Mourns its departed beloved.
Ye red roses mourn
For thy departed beloved;
No longer canst ye adorn
