                                      Iglesias can’t hide
                                      their excitement.
                                      “ We’ve had a n
                                      incredible day. It’s
                                      been a fantastic expe-
rience. We loved it.” That’s how the twins describe their
first foray into the fashion world, hand in hand with
¡HOLA! and master photographer Patrick Demarchelier,
who as soon as he saw the girls through his lens said
“Beautiful!” and predicted that Julio Iglesias and Miranda
Rijnsburger’s daughters (and Enrique Iglesias’ half-sisters)
           will have a bright future.
¡HOLA! has watched Cristina and Victoria grow up
and has accompanied them during the most important
moments of their lives. Now, at the age of 16, they are
two gorgeous teenagers: tall, blonde, upbeat, sweet,
and fun. They’re interested in fashion and see fame as
           a platform to do good.
And that’s why they wanted to pay homage to Oscar de
la Renta, their “Tío Tope-Tope,” who watched them grow
up and whom they loved dearly. They picked his brand
and fashion house for their first feature. Annette de la
Renta, Oscar’s “first lady,” the elegant and petite woman
he married in 1989, welcomed us into their country home
in Litchfield County, CT, where she shared so many good
moments with Oscar, their children, and the dogs, and
where we photographed the Iglesias girls, surrounded by
           memories and beloved belongings.
Annette, Miranda, and the girls remember with fond-
ness, not sadness. Oscar was the one who would drive
the golf cart around the yard while chatting with Julio.
When they reminisce about those days, their faces light
up and they can’t help but laugh. “If he’d have been here
today, he would have been paying attention to every last
detail,” says Victoria. “He was a perfectionist.”
It’s cold and we’re surrounded by a forest of enormous
trees. The girls shiver. “We’re from Miami,” they remind
us. Their father has sent them a message, “I love you a lot.
Be happy and natural.” Miranda, who always stays in the
background, is a responsible but discreet mother who
wants her daughters to learn to spread their wings. She
is silent, there but barely noticed. She smiles quietly; she
trusts our team and the girls.
After the photo session, sitting next to the warming
fireplace and wrapped in wool plaid blankets, we recall
the best parts of the day. It’s a conversation full of laughter. Victoria (left) sports a casual
