Why Eat BEFORE BEDTIME
Well again, what Dr. Selby pointed out is simply what Nature’s Healthy Way has done for millions of years
including what our early and recent ancestors have done from the beginning of time.
Obesity resulted when we tried to change Nature’s Healthy Way FOR ONE REASON: FOOD PROCESSORS
NEEDED TO SELL MORE FOOD THAN WE COULD REASONABLY EAT – AND WE LOVED SUGAR SO MUCH OUR
GREAT-GREAT GRANDPARENTS BEGAN EATING SUGAR IN THEIR FOOD ALL DAY LONG. (PAGE: 100) It started
as a treat, then became a habit, then a way of life, THEN IT BECAME A WORLDWIDE CULT – ask any dietitian.
Cows eat all day long, but they are Herbivores (plant eaters), not Omnivores (meat and plant eaters) like us.
Their digestive system is completely different than ours. Meat takes longer to digest than plants.
In my younger years, I was a swimming & diving instructor AND LIFEGUARD. Swimming after eating can cause
stomach cramps that can disable and drown you. Any activity after eating creates COMPETITION for energy
between the digestive system and your muscles.
After eating, 15 to 20 percent of your energy is diverted to your abdominal area for the energy needed for
digestion. (See “Peristalsis” Page: 42)
Most people are tired after eating for exactly the same reason whether they exercise, or not.
After 45 years of eating Nature’s Healthy Way I sleep well and wake up with lots of energy. I don’t feel
hungry during the morning, noon or afternoon. Then I enjoy a healthy meal immensely.
Usually once or twice a month, I completely skip all food for one day and continue feeling excellent the ENTIRE
next day. Muslims for 1400 years thrived on Nature’s Healthy Way during the month of Ramadan.
