The teacher will introduce seven strategies of highly effective reader that they will use in this lesson. the
strategies ill not only help learners in comprehension, but they will be applied in other texts that require
learners to use their cognitive skills.
The strategies are:
1. Activating
2. Inferring
3. Clarifying
4. Questioning
5. Searching
6. Summarizing
7. Visualizing
The teacher will read the text with the learners and offer some learners opportunity to read to the class.
Learners will also be given a chance to read on their own and make some notes as they are reading
through. The teacher will discuss the strategies above with the learners as they go through the text to
show a relation on the text.
Learner activities
The learners will be required to read the text on their own and highlight the most important parts or things
that they don’t understand. They will also read together as a class and share their opinions about the text.
The learners will share their views about the strategies and what they think will work while reading this
text.
Conclusion (5 minutes)
Teacher activities
The teacher will ask learners to write down the summary of everything they have learnt during the lesson
and how it has impacted on them. He will also ask them questions based on everything that was done
during the class to check how well they have been doing. The teacher will brief the learners on things that
they will be doing in the next class.
Learners activities
Learners will write down their own summary of the lesson. They will also share their own opinions about
what they have learnt. The teacher will ask them questions. They will have to take notes on the briefing
of the next session.
