WHO?


      Mr.Mokete is a male English teacher at City Rand College. He is an African and speaks Sepedi as home
      language. The teacher is a Christian and respects other religions. He struggles with time management.

      Mr. Mokete will be teaching a class of 35 learners in total: 15 boys and 20 girls. The learners come from
      different social backgrounds which are moderate in terms of social and economic stability. Learners are

      fluent in English and the school’s medium of instruction is English which caters for most learners if not all.

      There is one learner who is visually impaired. There is a unity among the learners.

      WHERE?


      The school is located at Gauteng in Johannesburg CBD. There is a clinic next to the school. The desks

      are arranged in rows, all facing the smartboard. Learners sit in pairs. There’s enough space between desk
      rows for teachers and wheelchairs to move around.


      WHEN?

      The lesson will take place on Wednesday morning. The periods are 45 minutes long and it is an advantage

      because it is morning, learners are still energetic.

      What?


      Introduction- the learners will be shown the picture of the Gmail founder to assess their prior knowledge

      before the lesson begins.

      Body- the teacher will show learners how to write an email.


      Conclusion- the class will discuss the importance of email.

      What for?


      -Acquire the language skills necessary to communicate accurately.


      -express and justify, orally and in writing, their own ideas, views and emotions confidently.

      -listen, speak, read/view and write/present the language with confidence and enjoyment.


      How?

      Teacher activities


      The  teacher  will  introduce  the  lesson  by  showing  learners  the  picture  of  the  founder  of  the  Gmail
      application. He will ask the learners if they know the person being displayed on the power point slide. He

      will give learners a clue about the person. The teacher will eventually tell the learners the name of the
