Reflection

The presentation of the lesson went well. The learners were very well attentive and responding to
questions as well as asking questions. The reason the learners were excited was because if the text it

was very much related to their living experiences and because of that the learners had a lot to say about
it. I took advantage of this situation to fill in the gaps in their knowledge as they had a lot to say about the

lesson. There were challenges that I encountered in the lesson as learners were finding it difficult to

understand the concepts of reading a comprehension. I then realized the learners do not have a culture
of reading and this will affect most of my learners. I also realized that the reason I had challenges was

because the lesson was teacher oriented and the learners were just receiving and not forming part of the

lesson. In future while preparing for my lessons I have realized that I should put the learners at the center
of learning so that they oversee their own class. This will also help me in being able to identify whether

the learners are understanding or not. In my assessments too I have learnt that I should have ongoing
informal assessments through the lesson.
