Lists of local importers

Yoon: Mr. Johnson, could you please do me a favor regarding a list of importers?
Johnson: Yes, if I can. What do you want me to do? Exactly what kind of information do you
need?
Yoon: Could you help me find some reliable importers of textile products in your country? We want
to expand our business this semester and this entails some new partnerships with businessmen
in your country. Since we are new in this field, we don’t know a lot of people in this circle.
That’s why we are depending on your knowledge of the people in the business. I hope you can
help us on this.
Johnson: Certainly, that shouldn’t be a problem. I’d be happy to help you out. I think I have several
lists of local importers who may be interested in your line of business. I promise that I will have
my secretary email your needed information once I get back to my office. Would that be ok?
Yoon: I would really appreciate it if you could do that, Mr. Johnson. That list will be a valuable
source of information to me. Thanks for extending this help. We’re very excited about this ex-
pansion and we’re just so glad that we can rely on partners like you to help us out on this.
Johnson: That’s no problem, Mr. Yoon. You take good care of us whenever we’re in your country
and you have always been a good business partner. You can ask any favor anytime. It’s my plea-
sure. Good luck on your business expansion. We hope you can include us in this new venture
too.
Yoon: You can count on that, Mr. Johnson. We’re just setting some time for adjustment and we’ll
have you join on this one too.

1. How do you know about reliable and reputable business partners like im-
porters?

Sample answer:
I have friends in the business and we often exchange names of reliable business partners. It’s
also common to hear about good business partners in our small world. I always take note of
these names.

2. How do you take care and improve your business relations with your part-
ners?

Sample answer:
I do a lot of things to maintain a good relationship with my business partners. I am always true
to my word. My word is as binding as a written contract. I am always on time for all meetings.
