Unit 6

I was wondering if you could tell me how to go to St.

                  Peter’s Cathedral?

Traveler: Excuse me Sir; I was wondering if you could tell me how to go to St. Peter’s Cathedral?
I’m sorry to bother you, but I was unlucky because the Taxi driver just dropped me off here.
He said that he could not locate it.
National: Well, it is just on the other side of the road. You need to walk two blocks from the
Dolce Train station; you will fi nd it at the corner of the road. You can reach the cathedral
with in 10-15 minutes if you’ll start walking now. If you would like to, I can walk you there,
since my destination is along side with St. Peter’s Cathedral.
Traveler: Of course, I would love that. It’ll be a great help.
National: All right, so maybe we can have a small chitchat as we walk, so that you won’t get
                     bored, right?
Traveler: That will be fun, but actually I’m in a hurry because I’ll be late for my best friend’s
wedding. It’s at 10 am, you know, I’m a bit late now.
National: Is that so? Look, I think let’s just take a cab. Don’t worry; I know you’re not from here.
I’ll lead the way if in case the driver doesn’t know where it is, ok?
Traveler: If that’s what you think is best, let’s go! By the way, I haven’t catch you’re name yet.
National: It’s Kelvin, Kelvin Choi. I’m a Korean.
Traveler: What a small world, I’m a Korean too. It’s nice to meet you here, Kelvin.
National: You’re even nicer. Oh, here’s a cab, Taxi! Go ahead Ms. Ella Dee.
Traveler: How were you able to know my name?
National: It’s written on your hankie. Here, it fell.

                  1. Do you have a good sense of direction?

                     Sample answer:
Yes, I do. Once I have been to a place, I could still remember how to go back there, or I could
easily understand the directions given to me every time I ask for a location.

                  2. What do you do if you get lost?

                     Sample answer:

The first thing that I always do is that I stay calm and alert. Then, I ask directions from anyone
in that place to know my exact location, to know how to get to a certain place and to estimate
                     its distance.
