Machine Tool Technology
Machine Tool Technology students will learn to set-up and operate
manual machines to cut and shape a piece of metal into a desired form.
Examples of these machines are lathes, milling machines, saws and
grinders. Along with machining, they will learn precision measurement
and blueprint reading skills. Students advancing to Levels II and III
will receive training in CNC programming as well as CNC setup and
operation. For this program students need to possess strong math and
science skills. Careers in this field are in extremely high demand .

(Prerequisite: Grade of 70 or higher in each course or instructor
recommendation is needed to advance to the next level.)
*Dual Credit is proposed for courses marked with an asterisk (*) above. To earn dual
credit, students must meet the admissions requirements for Spartanburg Community
College. In addition, students earning dual credit will complete assignments that are
above and beyond normal class expectations.
