Çré Vraja-réti-cintämaëi



               çré-kåñëa—of Çré Kåñëa; caitanya—transcendental; rasa—mellows;
               svarüpam—the form; advaitam—unparalleled; änandam—blissful; ihä—
               here; ädi—transcendental; nityam—eternal; lokaiù—by the conditioned
               souls; amåçyam—inconceivable; vraja-loka—by the residents of Vraja;
               vaçyam—subdued; bhajäni—let me worship; avaçyam—inevitably;
               sucitah—purified; api—also; avaçyam—inevitably.

            With a pure heart let me worship Vrajabhümi, which is the form
            of the sweetness of meditation on Çré Kåñëa, which is eternal,
            transcendental,  blissful,  and  peerless,  and  which,  although  it
            cannot be understood by ordinary people, is easily understood by
            its residents.

               Note: Çréla Viçvanätha Cakravarté Öhäkura has concealed the names Çré
               Kåñëa Caitanya, Nityänanda, and Advaita in the first two lines of this
               verse.

                            kävyaà kaveù kävyatayä prasiddhaà
                            kävyasya kävyaà ca yato 'pi kävyam
                            tad eva kävyaà mama kävya-kävyaà
                            vrajäìka-kävyaà param astu kävyam

               kävyam—the poem; kaveù—of the poet; kävyatayä—by its poetic
               qualities; prasiddham—is celebrated; kävyasya—of the poem; kävyam—
               the poetry; ca—also; yataù—because; api—also; kävyam—poem; tat—
               this; eva—certainly; kävyam—poem; mama—my; kävya—among poems;
               kävyam—poem; vraja—of Vraja; äìka—with the mark; kävyam—poem;
               param—best; astu—should be; kävyam—poem.
            A poet's poem becomes famous because of its quality of being poetic.
            I shall boldly declare that this poem of mine is the most poetic and
            best of all poems, for it glorifies the transcendental land of Vraja.

                               caitanya-rüpodita-rétim ekam
                             ekantam abhyästum ahaà saméhe
                               tat tat-tadéyänuga tokta-bhävo
                              bhävocito dhyeya ito na kävyam
