Çré Vraja-réti-cintämaëi
caitanya—by Çré Caitanya Mahaprabhu; rüpa—and Çréla Rupa Gosvami;
udita-rétam—described; ekam—sole; eka-antam—sole; abhyästum—to
attempt; aham—I; saméhe—desire; tat-tat-tadétya-anugata—by Their
followers; ukta—described; bhävaù—mellows of ecstatic love; bhäva-
ucitaù—philosophically sound; dhyeyaù—the proper object of meditation;
itaù—compared to which; na kavyam—this book is hardly poetic at all.
I yearn to be able to write as well as Lord Caitanya's Rüpa Gosvämé,
but I cannot write as well as he, and neither can I write as well
as his followers who wrote many wonderful, perfect books, which
everyone should read and remember. Compared to their books my
little book can hardly be considered poetic.

brahmäëòa-koöyo 'pi cito 'cito 'pi
sarvatra våndävanam etad eva
yathä sa kåñëaù pulinäçanädau
vaikuëöha—of Vaikuntha planets; koöyaù—millions; citaù—spiritual;
äsate—are; alam—greatly; brahmanda—of universes; koöyaù—millions;
api—even; citaù—collected; acitaù—material; api—also; sarvatra—in all
respects; våndävanam—Våndävana; etat—this; eva—certainly; yathä—
just as; saù—He; kåñëa—Çré Kåñëa; pulina—of the bank of the Yamuna;
äsana—eating lunch; ädau—and performing other pastimes.
Millions of material universes and even millions of spiritual
Vaikuëöha planets are not very significant in comparison to
Våndävana, where Çré Kåñëa enjoyed lunch with His friends on
the Yamunä's sandy bank, and enjoyed many other transcendental
pastimes.
