The devotees declare that Nandéçvara Hill, the form of Lord Çiva
now shining as Nanda Mahäräja's capitol, is an endlessly beautiful
crown decorating Våndävana.

yadéya-pürvottara-dakñiëeñu
vasanti lokä håta-sarva-çokäù
çanau puraù çréyuta-nanda-räja-
puré puräëämatataù puräëä
yadéya—of which; purva—previous; uttara—top; dakñiëeñu—on the
southern side; vasanti—reside; lokäh—people; håta-sarva-çokäù—free
from all suffereing; çanau puraù—on the summit; çréyuta—nanda-räja—
of Sréman Nanda Mahäräja; puré—the city; puräëä—of the Puranas;
amatataù—according to the opinion; puräëä—very ancient.
On its eastern, northern, and southern sides people free from all
unhapiness reside. On its summit is Nanda Mahäräja's palace, which
the Puräëa's describe as existing since ancient times.

yeñäà våttiù sä sphaöikair vibhäti
pracéra-räjé—walls; racitä—constructed; masäraiù—of sapphires;
emeralds; gåhäni—homes; alaàgreately; märakatäni—constructed of
emeralds; yasyäù—of which; stambhäù—columns; prabälaiù—of coral;
paöaläni-roofs; hemëä—of gold; yeñäm—of which; våttiù—windows; sä—
that; sphaöikaiù—of crystal; vibhäti—shine.
Nanda Mahäräja's capitol is enclosed by a great wall built of
sapphires. The homes within the capitol are made of emeralds, with
coral pillars, golden roofs, and crystal windows.
