                                                 Lady Jacqueline Heath Parker

“ If you have ever seen the light of understanding in another’s eyes where light has not shone before, if you have ever guided the unsteady and
unpracticed hand and watched it suddenly grow firm and purposeful, if you have watched a young mind begin to soar to new heights and have
sensed that you are participating in this unfolding of the intellect, then you have felt within you the sense of being an humble instrument in the
furtherance of mankind.” - Lady Franchell Boswell

I am honored to greet each of you attending the 41 Area III Leadership Conference with the theme:
“Investing in the Future Through Exceptional Leadership and Service.” Lady Mary Davis, our esteemed Area
III Director; Lady Gisele’ M. Casanova, Conference General Chairman; and all of the members of the Host

Chapter, Evergreen Park have worked tirelessly to provide a setting for us to come together. In this
hospitable setting, we will find our sense of being an humble instrument in the furtherance of mankind. We
have a setting where we can practice applied hope. We come together to plan, share, and inspire. We
devise ways to connect, protect, and respect as we improve our community. We can rationally decide on
the sort of future that would be most desirable and work to achieve it.

Most communities could not begin to care for its citizens without the involvement of organizations such as
Top Ladies of Distinction. With such a widening gap between human needs and public resources we must

       avoid growing cynicism.

“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world
may be different because I was important in the life of a child.” Wise words spoken by Forest E. Witcraft (American Scholar, Teacher and Scout
       Leader, 1894-1967).

       My Warmest Regard,

       Lady Jacquelyn Heath Parker
