BR-52 Brake system – service brake (air pressure)
2. Check on rear brake air chamber
a. Put the rear brake air chamber on the test bench,
connect the air inlet pipe of the parking brake air
chamber, turn on the air source switch, and fill 600kPa or
above compressed air into the rear brake air chamber.
The push rod should retract. If not so, repair it.
b. Check whether the rear brake air chamber leaks by
smearing soap water on the outside of the rear brake air
chamber or putting it into water. If so, change or repair it.
Caution
Before the test, tighten the parking brake disabling
bolt at the tail of the rear brake air chamber into place.
c. Put the rear brake air chamber on the test bench,
connect the air inlet pipe of the parking brake air
chamber, turn on the air source switch, and fill 600kPa or
above compressed air into the rear brake air chamber.
The push rod should extend out. If not so, repair it.
Caution
Before the test, tighten the parking brake disabling
bolt at the tail of the rear brake air chamber into the
released position.
3. Disassembly of rear brake air chamber
a. Before the rear brake air chamber is disassembled, install a connector with an air filling pipe at the air inlet
of the parking brake, and fill at least 600kPa air into the parking brake air chamber to disassemble the rear
brake air chamber.
b. Loosen the lock nut of the rear brake air chamber's
connection fork.
c. Rotate out the connection fork.
