DI
Leakage test of the A/C system can only performed when there is appropriate pressure in the system, i.e., at
least 0.196MPa. However, do not add compressed air into the system. Otherwise, the moisture, dust and other
EG
impurities will impose more loads to the desiccant or cause contamination of the system. There are following
methods for checking the leakage of refrigerant:
1. Use the manifold pressure gauge to test the system pressure TR
a. This is the method using a manifold pressure gauge to find failure. When following conditions are met, read
values indicated on the manifold pressure gauge. AX
Test conditions,:
● Intake gas temperature 30~35℃.
FR
● Engine speed, 1500r/min.
● Blower running at its highest speed,.
ST
● Put adjusting switch into “COOL” position.
● A/C switch “ON”.
BR
● Vehicle doors fully opened.
Caution
BW
● Perform the A/C system test as indicated in following pictures and notes. Therefore, find the failures
and determine the causes in the refrigeration system.
● In following tables, data are given where the refrigeration system is switched on but has not been EL
vacuumed before replacing the refrigerant.
● Pressure gauge readings when refrigeration system works
properly:
● Moisture is entrapped in the system (condition: intermittely no refrigeration)
