Electrical system – electrical components EL - 105
Check and repair IN
1. Switch off the ignition switch
2. Recover the refrigerant (refer to Chapter EL electric system-electric parts-heating and DI
AC-refrigerant, replacement”)
3. Removing the compressor EG
a. Removing the fixing bolts from the high and low pressure
tubes of the compressor. TR

c. Disconnect the plug and socket connectors of the
compressor.
d. Remove the compressor fixing bolts. Remove the
compressor assembly.
4. Check the refrigeration oil
a. The gaseous refrigerant shall be expelled gradually from inside the new replacing compressor prior to
installation. The drain the refrigeration oil from the new compressor as described below.
b. Reference values: amount of new compressor refrigeration oil - amount of remained refrigeration oil in the
used the compressor = amount of refrigeration oil to be drained from the new compressor.
Caution
When checking amount of oil, refer to considerations on disassembly and installation, since some
refrigeration oil may be retained inside the A/C tubings. If a new compressor is installed without
draining some refrigeration oil, the amount of oil contained in the system may be too much, that will
reduce the heat transfer efficiency of the refrigeration loops, and lead to refrigeration failures; if the
remained amount of oil in the removed compressor is very small, it needs to do the oil leakage check
and confirm if the correct refrigeration oil had been used.
