EG - 168 Engine section – Engine (Cummins ISF3.8)
Precautions
1. Safety Warning
a. Do not operate on the side of road or in the place full of people. The vehicle shall be placed on flat ground.
b. Ensure the parking brake handle at the parking position
c. Fix the wheels with a triangle wood block or wedge which shall be placed very close to the front and back
of tyre. It is better to fix the two sides of rear wheels
d. Before lifting the cab, it is necessary to make sure the cab is free from debris and there is no person in front
of the cab. After turning up the cab, it is necessary to make sure that the safety pin is in place.
e. When operating in the car bottom, it is necessary to stop the engine, close the ignition lock switch and pull
out the ignition key.
f. When it is necessary to repair the cooling system, the repair shall be done when the vehicle has not been
started or it has been extinguished for 30 minutes.
2. Important hints
a. Avoid overflowing the coolant when disconnecting the cooling system pipes. The waste treatment shall be
carried out as required, if it cannot be used again.
b. Avoid getting debris into the cooling system pipeline as the cooling system pipeline is disconnected and
debris entering the cooling system pipeline can damage the cooling system and the engine.
c. The coolant is toxic and, if it cannot be used further, the waste treatment shall be carried out as required.
d. When servicing the cooling system, it is necessary to pay attention to the coolant temperature. When the
temperature is too high, it is necessary to wait until the coolant temperature drops before repairing.
