04-42 DIAGNOSTICS - ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS)

1 . DTC inspection
(a) Ignition switch: OFF.
(b) Connect the diagnostic apparatus.
(c) Use the diagnostic apparatus, read the fault code.
(d) Confirm whether there is a fault code related to brake lamp switch?

Is the inspection result normal?
YES>To step 2.

NO>Intermittent trouble exists.

2 . Check fuse.
(a) Ignition switch: OFF.

(b) Check fuse in the engine compartment
fusebox:
• F2(60A)

(c) Check fuse in the indoor fusebox:
• F4(7.5A)

Is the inspection result normal?
YES>To step 3.

NO>replace fuse.

3 . Check brake lamp switch power supply circuit.
(a) Ignition switch: OFF.
(b) Disconnect the battery negative cable.
(c) Disconnect connector C004 of brake lamp switch.
(d) Connect the battery negative cable.
(e) Ignition switch: ON.
