11. Measure the clearance of main bearing
PROMPT:
• Avoid confusion with the old bush.
• The bush which is worn to the nickel layer must
be replaced.
(a). Remove the main bearing cap, and clean

2 the bearing cap and the journal.
(b). Put the plastic clearance gauge onto the
journal and into the bush depending on the
fuwx12C085 bearing width.
PROMPT:
The plastic clearance gauge must be located at
the center of the bush.
(c). Install the main bearing cap and the main
bearing cap fixing bolt, tighten the bolt with
the torque of 65±9.8 N•m, and further
rotate it by 90° +13.5° .
(d). Remove the main bearing cap again.
(e). Put the scale ① on the face of the plastic
thickness gauge ② , and measure the
width of the plastic thickness gauge at the
widest gap.
Standard clearance of main bearing:
0.022 ~ 0.054 mm

12. Check the cylinder block
(a). Use the knife straight edge and the
cle arance gaug e to me asure th e
deformation of the sealing surface of the
cylinder block and the cylinder head; if the
planeness exceeds the limit, rectify the
planeness.
Standard planeness: 0.05 mm
