The Girl with The Unusual Power

                                                 By Alesia Gaddis

         Except from Chapter 1
“Hi, my name is Joe, I’m 16 years old, and I live alone. I was abandoned at 12
years old by my parents, because they were afraid of me. Since they left, I just
wanted to live by myself. I could work jobs that I was not legally able to work,
though I had a little help from the CEO of the Jefferson Tech, so that I can pay
         off the rent and taxes my parents left me. To this day, I still do the same routine;
school, work an afternoon job then a night job, go home and do my homework,
then go to bed. Though, I’m completely alone, the CEO does come and give me
company. He also will tell my job to give me a day off so we can go have fun
and eat dinner. He even helps me cook dinner from time to time. He has been
there for me for a long time. The man is a sweetheart and so is his son: who is
10 now. It still surprises me that he is STILL single. Come on ladies, women
up. Anyway, other than that, there is nothing too special about me that I can tell
you that is not classified. But I will say this, if I was normal, will my parents
still be with me today” …………..

         Excerpt from Chapter 2

“Thank you for sharing with us, Joe”, the therapist said. Everyone in the circle clapped for Joe. She gave
a small, but faintly visible smile. The therapist wrote something in her notebook and looked back to her
with a smile. “Well thank you for sharing, Joe. That took a lot of courage to say and I can tell it was a
painful memory of yours to bring up again”, she said sweetly. “Thanks, Ms. Jones. You’re too sweet,
you’re going to give me cavities”, said Joe with a barely visible smirk. Everyone in the room laughed at
the comment. The therapist, a.k.a Ms. Jones, cleared her throat then said, “Well. Does anyone else want
to share anything?” Everyone shook their heads no. “Alright then, class dismissed”. And with that, every-
one got up and walked to the exit. Joe was about to walk out when Ms. Jones called for her. “Hey. Let’s
walk and talk,” she said to Joe. After Joe nods her head in agreements, Ms. Jones started, “Hey, I’m really
proud of you for talking about your painful past. I
believe you have inspired your fellow mates and I
know you are going to go far. I believe it, your ma-
tes believe it, and even the CEO of Jefferson Tech
believes it. So, keep up the good work, okay”. Joe
nodded her head in understanding. With that, Ms.
Jones gave Joe a hug and walked away. After Ms.
Jones left her sight, Joe turned around and walk to
her truck, got in, and drove off to her home to get
ready for her next two jobs.

This story is still be developed and written, from the point of 15 year old Alesia Gaddis
who witnesses various things at school and comes home to write about them in a fiction-
al way. This was just a small teaser to what Ms. Gaddis can truly do. She is gifted and
talented and she truly loves the Lord. Somedays at school may not be her favorite, but
she never gives up on God. She trusts Him in all the does and pushes to be the best
young lady she can be. Ms. Gaddis writes several short stories and often times the char-
acters in her stories reflects that things she may endure personally and this is her way of
dealing with them and putting light to the situation at hand.

She has a great mother, Aquita Gaddis-Gray, who supports her daughter and encourages
her in every aspect of life.
