            55 DOUBLE FIGURE OF EIGHT
            The Double Figure of Eight is a Figure  through the loop (55b). Then settle
            of Eight Knot (4) with an extra twist  the knot down as shown in 55c. This
            put in. Begin as if to form a Figure of  knot is just as simple as the ordinary
            Eight (55a), but instead of passing the  Figure of Eight but has greater bulk
            end straight down through the lower  to stop a line running out through a
            loop, instead pass it behind and up   block or eye.

            56 CROWN KNOT
            The Crown Knot is never used alone,  of each of the three strands, then
            but always forms part of another  tuck each down over its neighbour,
            knot. Begin by putting a tape stopper  working around in the direction of the
            around the rope and unlaying it to  lay (56a). Carefully tighten the knot
            that point. Use tape to whip the ends   until it forms as in 56b then 56c.
