“Kevod” \ to “honor” refers to a man who values the mitzvot
 of HaKadosh Baruch Hu as being very precious and is careful
in their observance, since in so doing he honors HaKadosh
 Baruch Hu. This idea is brought down in Midrash Tanchumah, '
 in perashat Vayigash (section #6), as follows: Rebbe Shimon הֶארְִנְו .
Bar Yochai said – HaKadosh Baruch Hu said – “You shall honor
 the mitzvot because they are My representatives, and a man’s
 representatives are just like the man himself. If you honor them,
it is as if you are honoring Me, and if you revile them it is as if
 you revile Me.” (His words are quoted up until this point).

 Shelomo HaMelech teaches in Mishle (13:13) “one who הֶזְו .
 disregards something will cause it to harm him, and one who
fears mitzvot will be rewarded.” Regarding this, the Vilna
 Gaon in his commentary on Mishle writes the following: “Man שֶׁפֶנַּה לַכוּתְו ,הָמּרִ הֶשָׂעֵיְו וֹפוּגּ לֵטַּבְּתִי יַתָמ ,הֶוּקְַתּ םָדָאָה
 is created with 248 organs corresponding to 248 (proactive) ?
positive mitzvot (Aseen) and each of those organs derives its life
 force from each of those individual mitzvot.
who despises any mitzvah is only harming himself because he
 now he lacks the life force supplied by that mitzvah to sustain ,'וּכְו רָקִּעָבּ רֵפוֹכּ וּלִּאְכוּ ,'וּכְו הרָָז הָדוֹבֲע דֵבוֹע וּלִּאְכּ
that organ. But one who is fearful of ignoring even one mitzvah
 and strives to observe every one will be complete in all of his

 As one reflects about himself he will realize that his observance
of the mitzvot that are contingent on a person’s speech is very
 weak. Even if man sometimes regrets having said something
 inappropriate and is remorseful, that remorse is not heartfelt
enough to consider it as having done Teshuvah. And the proof
 is that after a day or two has passed or even the same day, he
 has forgotten what he said and reverts back to the same speech
patterns he used before which are forbidden by the Torah. But
 his reaction to saying something forbidden would be unlike his
