REVIEW OF THE EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE AND UTILITIES

            Water

The existing water supply within the campus is

divided into two: the aqueduct pressure zone or a
water source coming from pumping of wells and

through a water service provider. Isabela Water
District operates water supply and distribution
infrastructure within the campus. However, in

employing a water service provider, it is necessary to
have a distinct separation of water lines between the

academic zone and housing zone to provide for
rationalization of the monthly usage through
individual metering and imposition of standard

            charges.

Rainwater harvesting may be further explored as one
way of maximizing the water usage in the campus.
The installation of the rainwater harvester should be

critically planned and strategically positioned all over
the campus. It can offer additional supply of water

that can fill in the water requirements in the tanks of
the water closet, drip water system and supply the
green part of the campus as shown in the figure.

The campus has no system for recycled water, thus,

design considerations for new development may
include dual plumbing in buildings and irrigation
system constructed to recycled water. In the near

term, rain water harvesting system can be
incorporated into the design of new buildings as

means of reducing demand for potable water.
Rainwater harvesting facilities, such as the use of
cisterns for individual buildings, will allow for

            conservation water resources.
