“TEAMING TO ALLEVIATE HUNGER
Brooklyn Bedford Stuyvesant Lions Club, Brooklyn Stuy Park Lions
Club, and Stuy Park Leos “teamed” at the home of CT Prince Felix
and Lion Janet Felix (Chairperson of Eyeglass Committee), on Sunday,
November 20, 2022, to prepare their annual Partnership Thanksgiving
Baskets(mini tubs) distribution to the less fortunate.
Each basket was packed with essentials to feed a family of five or six.
It included a large turkey, stuffing, gravy, onions, celery, cranberries or Service team with participating Lions from Bedford Stuyvesant
cranberry sauce, fresh and canned vegetables, mac and cheese, rice, and Stuy-Park Lions and Leos prepare Thanksgiving baskets
cornbread mix, flour, sweet potatoes, fruit, apple cider, cookies, holiday
candy and topped with a Thanksgiving greeting card.
To commemorate Veterans Day, Lions Estela Caesar and Lottie Shannon
served lunch to veterans at the American Legions Association in
Brooklyn, NY.

Thanksgiving baskets are filled with nutritious food items
BROOKLYN PROSPECT HEIGHTS LIONS
SUPPORTS HELEN KELLER INSTITUTE FOR
THE BLIND
Members of the Brooklyn Prospect Heights Lions Club partnered with the Helen Keller Services
for the Blind Institute (HKSB) to provide tasty and filling Thanksgiving meals to HKSB clients.
Donated items included fresh fruits and vegetables, non-perishable foods, turkeys and the
trimmings for a celebration. (see photo)
Receiving on behalf of the HKSB was Ms. Liz Sergi, Clinical Program Director of Social
Work, who expressed the organization’s pleasure at the partnership. Our Club intends to donate Christmas gifts also for HKSB clients.
