What a great time we had at this year 2017-2018 District Convention with
PID Douglas Alexander, from Brooklyn, New York and CC Rick Talbert of Weslaco, Texas our Council Chair of MD2 Texas.
Council Chair Rick was an inspirational speaker, his message was to get all new Lions to feel apart of the club as soon as possible. We must work on retaining our members by creating programs to increase membership satisfaction. PID Doug gave us some tools we can use to stop the dropper and keep our members satisfaction and retain them.
How many clubs use Member-At-Large? When I see a large dropped move number I think of Member-At-Large. A member of this club who has moved from the community, or because of a health or other legitimate reason, is unable regularly to attend club meeting and desires to retain membership in this club, and upon whom the board of directors of this club desires to confer this status. The status shall be reviewed each six months by the board of directors of the club.
Congratulations to Lion Christy Householter, she received the Lion of the Year 2017-2018 Award. What a leader, Lion Christy's leadership ability has helped so many Lions in the District.
The club of the year 2017-2018 was presented to Irving Noon Day Lions Club. The club has accomplished so much this year. Thanks, to all members. “We Service” that’s what this club does.
Congratulations also go to Lion Gloria Mathur, who recieved the International President’s award for outstanding service. Lion Gloria, with your award I would like to express my personal gratitude for your efforts and accomplishments. I know you will continue to enrich the lives of your fellow club members.
