Before providing a final disposition to the referral
source, BIC must:

 Review the information on the referral to ensure there are
no red flags from a care coordination standpoint

 Review the participating payor list to ensure the referral
does not indicate the patient has a payor we do not
accept

 Complete the referral and stage completes it to move the
case to the Revenue Cycle Department task list

For referrals that VNSNY can accept, what message is
sent to the referrer when accepting a referral on ECIN?

“Thank you for your referral to VNSNY. Based on the
information provided on the ECIN referral, and payor listed
on ECIN, we will move forward to schedule the patient for a
visit. Should we have any issues in coordination of care or
insurance, we will reach back out to you.”
