IMPLEMENTATION OF
               PROJECT



        Objectives                         1.     To disseminate the knowledge in reactor modeling for optimization purp-
                                                  oses.
                                           2.     To introduce the new level of understanding on the kinetic model of each
                                                  catalytic steps.
                                           3.     To develop the capability of the graduate intern in reactor and kinetic
                                                  modeling.
        Methodology                        The  knowledge  in reactor  modeling was disseminated through  the  case of
                                           propane dehydrogenation plant. The kinetic model was fine-tuned based on the
                                           reactor inter-stage composition. The reactor model was validated with the experi-
                                           mental plant trial data. The optimum operating conditions of the reactor was then
                                           identified to maximize propylene production. Classroom training was conducted
                                           to build capability within the company personnel.
