Weather forecast
Partly sunny, but with snow showers possible near the Baltic Sea. Day
temperatures between -3 and -8°C, and overnight temperatures may drop to
between -10 and -20°C. The wind will be light to fresh from the northeast.
Wind between south and east
As in the situation above, it is continental
polar air we get here. The Asian high-
pressure system usually extends over
Central Europe, bringing cold but dry
weather. In this weather situation, it does
not become warmer when the wind shifts
to the south! There is a possibility that low-
pressure systems from the Mediterranean
may move into Northern Europe.
This could lead to widespread snowfall, especially in the southern parts.

temperatures may drop to between -10 and -15°C. The wind will be light to
moderate from the southeast.

A low-pressure system located over
the British Isles pumps warm and moist
maritime tropical air up over Central
Europe from the subtropical high-
pressure area near the Azores. This
results in a very marked influx of warm
and moist air.
As this air moves over very cold land, it
will cool down, forming mist and fog
