Communication
- BEG
If you are going to fly VFR abroad, you must have a BEG certificate (or a GEN
English). With a BEG certificate you are allowed to talk on the radio all over
the world, where English-language correspondence is used. It is called BEG
because it is restricted to VFR flight.
- GEN
If you are going to fly IFR, a GEN certificate is required. GEN stands for
GENerel certificate. The language here is English.
This compendium deals with theory that specifically belongs to the BEG-
certificate, but it also broadly covers the theory of N-BEG. However, there is a
slight difference in the phraseology of N-BEG and BEG.
The theory for the GEN certificate must be read separately.
4.2.2 Rights, conditions and responsibilities
The N-BEG certificate entitles the holder to conduct radio correspondence in
Danish language on frequencies above 30 MHz to and from an aircraft in
connection with a VFR flight within Danish territory (and areas where Danish
language use is accepted) and under the conditions mentioned below.
The use of radio equipment requires that the user has thoroughly familiarized
themselves with the operation of these, and that the user has a valid radio
certificate with a valid language level endorsement.
The person who carries out radio communication is responsible for ensuring that
their own communication takes place in accordance with the applicable
regulations.
An N-BEG certificate entitles you to communicate in Danish.
A BEG certificate entitles you to communicate in English.
