Communication
4.10 A flight from EKRK to EKVJ
In the following section, we will take as our starting point a flight from EKRK
(Roskilde) to EKVJ (Stauning). We will fly in a Cessna 172, OY-CTZ, with 3
persons on board and endurance for 3 hours.
The flight route is: EKRK → VFR report point Borup → Røsnæs → Vesborg →
Hjarnø → Brande → VFR report point Skjern West → EKVJ.
4.10.1 Departure procedures
Before departure, there are various things we need to have in order. For
example, we must have:
- completed and sent an ATC flight plan (not a requirement normally)
- informed ourselves about the airport areas – which runways can I use for
departure, taxiways, etc.
- obtained information about runways in use, wind, temperature, QNH, etc.
When flying from EKRK, we must always communicate with ATC during
departure. ATC will give instructions about route changes, altitude changes and
speeds, and inform the aircraft of any changes in the airspace.
4.10.1.1 ATC Flight Plan
Before the flight, an ATC flight plan has been submitted. Once this is done, both
the departure and arrival airports, as well as Copenhagen Information, are
informed about our flight.
Here is an example of a flight plan. The easiest way to complete and submit an
ATC flight plan is via SkyDemon. There are other ways.
