4.8.1.1 Disregard and cancel
It is important that you know the difference between cancel and disregard.
- Cancel: If an instruction or permission has been given, you cannot
disregard it until it has been canceled.
- Disregard: If it is a message or information, you may be asked to ignore it.
4.8.1.2 Correction and repetition
It is important that you know the difference and use the correct phrase.
- Errors in a transmission must be corrected by saying “CORRECTION”,
after which the last correct group or expression is repeated, and the
transmission is continued.
- If a correction can best be made by repeating the entire message, say
“CORRECTION I SAY AGAIN”, after which the message is sent from the
beginning.
- If a recipient wants an entire message repeated, this must be indicated
by the expression “SAY AGAIN”.
- If parts of a message are desired to be repeated, say “SAY AGAIN ALL
BEFORE…” or “SAY AGAIN ALL AFTER…” or “SAY AGAIN ALL
BETWEEN…” respectively.
