6.6.2 Emergency equipment and use

The following are emergency equipment in the plane:

- fire extinguisher

- life jackets
- first aid kit

- emergency transmitter

6.6.2.1 Fire extinguisher

In connection with the various simulated emergency situations in connection

with the school flight, you will learn how to get hold of the fire extinguisher.

You are not allowed to fire it. A new one costs approx. 3000 DKK, and it is not

healthy

However, it is important that you have prepared yourself for what you are going

to do when you are sitting there with it in your hand.

It is important that you hold it as vertically as possible during use:
- Pull out the safety pin

- Point the fire extinguisher towards the base of the

fire

- Squeeze the handle together

- Sweep from side to side

After use, make sure to ventilate the cabin.

If you feel uncomfortable, seek medical attention and

tell them what type of fire extinguisher you have been using.

Do not misuse it to extinguish something burning in the back seat because

passengers have been careless with smoking or the like – smother the fire with

a jacket or the like or use the bottle of water placed in the backrest.
