6.6 Aircraft safety and equipment
Flight safety is the first thing we think about when we are going to fly. Both our
own safety and the safety of our passengers. By exercising “due diligence”
before flying with passengers and making sure to show that you are doing so,
you can hope that the passengers feel in safe hands, but you never know.
Try to interpret the signals your passengers give you with facial expressions and
body language. If you find that a person is insecure about flying, try to create a
safe environment. Explain what happens along the way, tell them where there
are vomit bags to use if they get motion sick. And fly with first-time passengers
at times when the weather is calm and there is no turbulence.
The following is some safety precautions you should take.
I have learned that one of the most important things you can take with you on
a flight is something as simple as a vomit bag. It could easily be a regular garbage
bag. If your plane is messed up by a passenger who gets motion sick – well, you
haven’t exercised due care!

6.6.1.1 Adjusting and securing the seat
The seats in our small planes vary greatly in terms of operation.
Some seats can only be pushed forward or
backward. Other seats can be adjusted in height
and backrest.
As a pilot, you need to help the passengers adjust
the seat correctly and move it forward or
backward so that any passengers in the back seat
can also be there.
