Aircraft general knowledge

                8.3.6.1 Longitudinal axis and ailerons

Movements around the longitudinal axis are called roll - performed with the

                ailerons.

The ailerons are located at the trailing edge of each wing. They are used to make
the aircraft roll. They move the aircraft around its longitudinal axis, which runs

fore and aft through the center of gravity.

                8.3.6.2 Normal axis and rudder

Movements around the normal axis are called yaw - performed with the rudder.

The rudder, which is located behind the tail fin, is used to move the aircraft

around the normal axis. Movements around the normal axis are called yaw.

Movements around the normal axis are performed with the rudder pedals.

                8.3.6.3 Lateral axis and elevator

Movements around the lateral axis are called pitch - performed with the

elevator. The elevator is located on the trailing edge of the tailplane and can be

moved up and down. Most often, there is a trim tab on the back of the elevator.

There are versions where the tailplane and elevator are a single unit. The
elevator is used to turn the aircraft around the lateral axis of the aircraft. This is

                called the aircraft's pitch.

                8.3.6.4 Aircraft control

Here is a traditional system for controlling

                the aircraft.

By pulling the steering wheel or stick back

or pushing it forward, you operate the
                elevator.
